Living at Our Chalet

Coming to Our Chalet is a dream for many members of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). This provides a unique opportunity for everyone to stay in Adelboden together and you can now be an important part of this.

During your stay at Our Chalet you will work as a patrol to help with the daily running of the centre and thus become part of the history of the chalet. Whilst you are with us it is important that you remember the following things:

• Please and Thanks are necessary words.
• Treat others as you would like to be treated.
• Keep the Guide and Scout values in daily action.
• Help another person at least once a day.
• Be on time.
  
• Do your best.
• Think creatively, there is always a different way to do something.
• Enjoy every second, you will never get it back.
  
• Eat the food you serve yourself, remembering to be sensitive to others who do not have the privilege of food.
  
• Enjoy the company of your old friends, but utilize the experience of the Chalet to make at least one new friend.
  
• Actively participate in the evening programme; there are always new and interesting things to learn.
• Respect others.
• Push yourself beyond your comfort.
  
• Achieve your goals.
• Remember you are not a stranger; you are a member of the family.
• Smiling and behaving nicely helps you to get where you want in life.
• Be aware of different and wrong; it is not the same. Things are different between cultures and that makes it special to discover.
