Deep and Fast
Our Chalet has a volunteer programme for people who like to work and meet people from many different cultures, to explore Switzerland, and share their skills to the benefit of the centre.
Deep and fast is a way of getting to know Our Chalet and Switzerland for people who are not able to come as a volunteer for three months. It is an advantage to have a specific skill to use at Our Chalet, but it is not essential. Deep and fast programme allows people to stay at the centre using their skills in a different way.
Why 'Deep and Fast'?
It will take at least a week (very fast) but you will leave with better and deeper understanding of guiding and scouting, and volunteering. Besides, giving you the chance to help and join a good cause.
We welcome applications from anyone who:
- Is aged 18 and over,
- Enjoys meeting and mixing with lots of new people,
- Is practical and not afraid of hard work,
- Can communicate in English.
What does a 'Deep and Fast' volunteer do?
Our deep and fast volunteers come to Our Chalet to work on a specific project which is negotiated with Our Chalet based on a skill which the volunteer has to offer. For example: building projects, maintenance work or implementing new things at Our Chalet.
Although Deep and Fast volunteers will not receive normal training they will enjoy the daily life with our volunteers. We welcome people for a minimum of one week with 5 working days and 2 days off (longer applicants are also welcome). During your stay you will receive full board and lodging. We welcome applicants all year round as long as we have adequate projects and space available.
