Catering Coordinator, Our Chalet Switzerland

Our Chalet is the first World Centre of WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts). It is an international training centre and gathering place for Guides and Scouts as well as non-members, providing opportunities for staff and guests to experience the outdoor environment, develop personal and leadership skills. Our Chalet offers accommodation, international volunteering programmes, internships, employment opportunities and a wide range of programme activities.

Main purpose of Catering Coordinator job role:

  • To manage catering and provide meals to guests and staff at Our Chalet.
  • To be responsible for menu planning, food ordering, meal preparation, kitchen safety and hygiene as well as volunteer training and supervision in catering duties.
  • To support the Our Chalet operational plan and the current strategic priorities of WAGGGS.

The Catering Coordinator will be responsible for menu planning, food ordering, meal preparation and kitchen health, safety and hygiene as well as training and supervision of the volunteer staff working in the kitchen.

This position requires experience in food preparation and catering, working with young people, ability to work in an international team, excellent interpersonal, organisational and time management skills. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential, with a working knowledge of German desirable.

This is a contract position for 1 Year (twelve months) with possibility of extension. Due to visa restrictions applicant are required to hold a citizenship/passport of the EU (European Union) country.

A salary and benefit package is offered which includes onsite accommodation or an allowance for offsite accomodation, meals during working hours and medical insurance coverage (with deductions in accordance with the Swiss law).
