Sally
World Centre Manager
Sally is from Canberra, Australia but has spent the past six years managing Sangam World Centre in India. So, she is swapping saris and rickshaws for hiking boots and gondolas! She has been involved in Guiding since early childhood and is passionate about WAGGGS and in particular the opportunities provided for international friendship and personal development at all of the World Centres. Sally is delighted to now have the opportunity to lead our first World Centre here in the beautiful Bernese Oberland of Switzerland, such a contrast and with a new range of challenges and adventures to Sangam and India. She very much looks forward to meeting guests and volunteers over the coming months.

Sarah
Deputy World Centre ManagerSarah is from Sydney, Australia. She has been involved in Girl Guides since she was seven. Sarah enjoys the outdoors and is keen to ensure opportunities are available for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts to try new things and learn new skills. Sarah looks forward to the opportunity and challenges of further developing her recreation and tourism career within WAGGGS at Our Chalet and also taking her Guiding promise into the wider world.

Korana
Programme ManagerKorana comes from Slovenia and has been involved in Guiding and Scouting since she was 14. She has been a Guide/Scout as well as a Ranger/Rover Leader for several years. She is interested in advocacy, environment and leadership development topics. Korana loves the outdoors and enjoys hiking, swimming, climbing and ice skating. She believes there is a leader in every one of us and is keen on ensuring a programme in a challenging and international environment that will enable young people to develop their life and leadership skills. For fun she loves art, dancing, music and making other people laugh.

Georgina
Office ManagerGeorgina is from Southampton, England. At university she studied Archaeology and hopes to work in a museum one day. She has been involved in Scouting and Guiding since she was seven, which has given her the opportunity to have adventures, learn, travel and meet lots of friends. She was very lucky to take part in the Scouting Centenary Camp on Brownsea Island in 2007. She loves to travel and dance, tell bad jokes, ski, eat chocolate and sing when she’s let into the kitchen.

Assistant Programme Manager
Katie is from Lincolnshire in the United Kingdom and has been involved in Guiding since she was four years old. She loves all outdoor activities including hiking, kayaking and camping (especially campfires!) and can’t wait to work as part of the Programme Team at Our Chalet. She has recently graduated with a degree in Modern Languages, so is looking forward to trying out her Swiss German!

Veronica
Kitchen CoordinatorVeronica is from Melbourne, Australia. She has been involved in the Scouting movement for 12 years and was a Scout Leader at several Cub and Scout groups. She worked as a secondary school teacher for a few years, teaching Health and Food Technology. Veronica enjoys learning about anything relating to health such as physical, psychological and nutritional health. She is
looking forward to working with an international team and skiing the amazing
Swiss Alps.

Christoph
Grounds and Maintenance AssistantChristoph is from Bavaria in Germany. Christoph has an education in auto mechanics and he has worked with machinery in the printing industry. He has been in scouting since he was 10 and has been a scout leader since he was 18. He has three children who have also been (or still are) in scouting. Christoph has always wanted to work in a scout centre, so this was his lucky chance. The spirit of Our Chalet has made a big impression on him, and he loves working here.

Moushira
Office AssistantMoushira is from Alexandria, Egypt, where she also completed her studies in Tourism. She is outgoing, likes to travel, read and try new things. She is a mezzo soprano amateur choir singer. Like most Egyptians, she enjoys a good laugh. Moushira joined Girl Guides in 1986, and as a leader; she worked with Guides, Brownies and Rangers. She visited Our Chalet in 1999 to attend the 3rd Helen Storrow Seminar, and promised herself she would be back one day to work there. Surprisingly, her dream came true on her birthday in August 2009 when she arrived and joined Our Chalet’s staff team.

Skippy Storrow
Our Chalet CatSkippy is from Adelboden in the canton of Bern, Switzerland. Her Scouting experience is quite vast as she has spent much of her time at Our Chalet. She explores the grass, eats bugs and protects the grounds and guests from any possible predators like marmots and slugs. In her free time she likes to soak up rays and chase cows.

Christina
Winter Volunteer
Christina, or Chrissi, is from Vienna, Austria. She has been involved in Guiding and Scouting since she was seven. She helped with Brownies (WiWö) and hopes for one day to lead the CaEx (13-16 year old Guides and Scouts). She did Kindergarten school, so she wants to work with children at the age of 13-20. She wants to study physiologics and wants to connect this with children. Chrissi loves to dance and listening to music, go to concerts and also likes doing lots of sports.

Hannah
Winter Volunteer
Hannah is from St Helens in the United Kingdom. She studied Law at Newcastle University and is starting as a trainee solicitor at a commercial law firm in August. Hannah has been involved in Guiding since being a Rainbow and attended her first pack holiday aged six months. Hannah enjoys skiing, horse riding, reading, seeing new sights and meeting new people. Hannah has wanted to work at Our Chalet since staying here as a Guide and is excited to be volunteering during the Girlguiding UK Centenary.

Kylea
Winter Volunteer
Kylea is from Holland Landing, Ontario, Canada. She has been volunteering at Pax Lodge since August and now joins us at Our Chalet as a Winter Volunteer. Ky has been a part of Girl Guides since she was five and continues to be an active member. She enjoys reading, playing guitar in her band, singing, writing music, hiking, playing in the snow, languages, learning and having new experiences.

Iggy
Winter Volunteer
Iggy is from London in the United Kingdom and has been part of Girlguiding for 15 years. Iggy undertook a skiing course in where she gained her Level 2 CSIA. She graduated from Brighton University studying Criminology and Social Policy. She has been on various Guiding trips to places such as Ukraine, South Africa, Iceland and Mexico and Belize. Iggy loves being part of the Guides as it has opened her eyes to new experiences such as being part of the winter volunteering team at Our Chalet.

Libertad
Winter Volunteer
Libertad is from Ensenada, México, and she is 20 years old. She loves Mexican Folk Dance, meeting new friends, trying new things and tasting food from all over the world. Back in home, she is a Brownies Leader. Libertad is at University studying Politics and she enjoys learning about different cultures and languages. Libertad is expecting to have a great time as a volunteer, doing a lot of things in the snow and learning how to ski. She is already having a wonderful time here at Our Chalet.

Louisa
Winter Volunteer
Louisa is from Blackpool in the North West of England. She is currently taking a gap year before starting university in 2010. She has been involved in Guiding for eleven years and hopes to make lots of new friends and face many challenges during her time at Our Chalet. Louisa is really looking forward to spending lots of time in the snow, attempting to improve her skiing and learning more about the Swiss culture and Guiding around the world.
