This is the second recipe book from Our Chalet.
Many of you may remember the first, which was called “The Bell Rings” and was put together by Kathi Hari who was the Swiss Cook at Our Chalet for many years.

This edition was put together by Jenny Egan, who has worked on several occasions with us as a Catering Coordinator.
Our Chalet Recipe Book
The title of the recipe book comes from a long tradition we still keep alive today, of ringing a brass cow bell calling all guests and staff on site to meals.

We felt that as so many guests asked for our recipes it was high time that we produced another recipe book. Some of the recipes in this book are from Kathi’s first edition recipe book and are traditional Swiss recipes.

The rest are either ones currently in use at Our Chalet or from staff and volunteers both past and present as well as some from guests and friends.

As the staff is international, so are the recipes, which makes life here at Our Chalet truly unique and fun experience.

We are especially proud or the recipes for some of the most popular Swiss dishes. Inside you can find how to make delicious Cheese Fondue, Rösti, Alpler Macaroni and many more.

This new recipe book is such a great and easy to use resource when teaching our Guides and Scouts about the World Centres. This way we can get everybody involved in preparing and tasking a traditional Swiss dishes from the original Our Chalet recipe.
