Thank You Ready Steady Go Volunteers

14 May 2011

The 16 women who formed this year's Ready Steady Go volunteer team arrived at Our Chalet a fortnight ago and have worked hard during their stay. The Chalet and surrounding buildings have been deep cleaned from top to bottom and everything is now ready for our busy summer season.

Among the tasks for Ready Steady Go volunteers was the creation of a path from Main Chalet to the campfire circle and this was completed one day ahead of schedule. Our volunteers worked outside in the rain, mist and sunshine without complaint. The official opening ceremony of the path was held yesterday evening where everyone who worked on the path was invited to cut the ribbon.

After the hard work, the volunteers enjoyed a day off and were treated to a trip to Interlaken where they took part in a chocolate demonstration. Staff and volunteers enjoyed the beautiful spring surroundings of the mountains and made the most of the good weather with a picnic lunch at Trummelbach falls.

Ready Steady Go fortnight is now drawing to a close and the Chalet will say goodbye to its fantastic volunteers over the coming days. We appreciate their hard work, energy and outgoing personalities and they have made a contribution towards Chalet life that will exist long after they have returned home.
