Building World Citizenship - The WAGGGS Perspective

aims to show how WAGGGS is making a difference through its global work. As world citizens, we all share benefits and responsibilities, enjoying friendship, culture, spiritual fulfilment, and the gift of life itself.

Building World Citizenship is about being responsible within the community, and developing projects which revitalise, replenish and recycle, thereby putting back something into the place we all share and call planet earth.

When we have to ask «Where have all the flowers gone&?» then it is too late to enjoy and respect our planet. But we can all start right now to do something about it.

Big, effective, international, global operations have all started as small, insignificant, local ones& sometime, somewhere&

For example, all our efforts for peace in the world are senseless, if we have fights in our families or quarrels with our neighbours&

In this sense and as a subject within the WAGGGS six year theme, OUR CHALET has chosen to go through the year 1998 with a well known saying as our topic:
