Hello I am a leader of 18- 3 year Brownies and I am looking for a Girl Guide and/or leader that can help our troop learn about Switzerland. We have chosen Switzerland for our country for Thinking Day Feb. 2001. We are looking forward to learning about the differances between Girl Guides in Switzerland and Girl Scouts U.S.A. Please e-mail if you can help our troop. Thank you, Yours in Scouting, Darlene Bailey

HEY! THIS SITE IS AMAZING, AS IS THE CHALET ITSELF! I VISITED IT WITH MY PATHFINDER UNIT LAST JULY. HOWEVER, OUR GROUP WAS TOO LARGE TO STAY IN THE BUILDING, WE ENJOYED TOURING IT. THE MOUNTAINS WERE BEAUTIFUL, AND I HOPE TO RETURN SOON. I AM 14 YRS OLD. ANYONE LOOKING FOR A PEN PAL CAN E-MAIL ME. LUV YA! :) KEEP SMILING!

I visited whilst attending a jamboree in Norway in 1976 and managed to have time to visit Our Chalet. WOW! The experience will be with me forever. It was a dream come true to visit the place we had sat around camp fires and sung about. I still have a little wooden music box I bought from a wood carver in the district that plays the tune to High up upon the mountain.I think back all those years ago and still I can remember the warmth of being a part of the guiding association.

Three others and I visited Our Chalet in September,2000. It is definitely is "High up, high on the mountain." After having no breath from climbing, I again lost my breath in the beauty and awe of "Our" Chalet. I have been a Girl Scout for over fifty years and being here is on of the highlights of my Girl Scout histoy.

I visited the Chalet in the summer of '99 as a chaperone for a friend's Senior troop. It was an incredible experience. I was unable to attend the Chalet program when I was a girl so I had to wait 25 years to finally get there. I am returning this summer, 2001, with my daughter's troop of 8 Senior girls. We have been together as a troop for 10 years, most of us and this is the culmination of an incredible Girl Scout experience. We will be there for Session 1, June 10-16. We are from suburban north Atlanta, Georgia. If anyone will be attending this session and would like to correspond prior to the trip, please write. If anyone has questions I will be glad to answer them, based on my last experience. If you are thinking of working toward a trip to the Chalet, I whole heartedly support your efforts.

I got to visit Our Chalet in the summer of 1988 with my council. I have great memories of that trip and the highlight was a trip to Our Chalet. I left a song book that I made for the Junior troop that I was affilated with while I was working on my LIT. The song book was ny Gold Award prodject. If anyone has ever looked at it, it is in the library and the cover is light green and my name on the cover was Jennifer Sheffer. I now have two nieces in Girl Scouts, one is a Junior and the other a Daisy. My hope is that they someday get to visit Our Chalet!

I have two sons, so unless they want to go to a Girl Scout camp, don't know if I'll ever get to make it back there. It is such beautiful country over there. Hi! I am a Ranger Guide from Australia. I have a mascot, named Bilnky Bill who would love to come and visit Our Chalet! I can't get there myself, so Blinky is the next best option! If Blinky can't go to Our Chalet, would anyone else like to host him? We would also like to host a mascot. Also, if anyone is going to Odyssey2001 in Australia, then you are very welcome to E-mail me. Maybe we coulld be friend?

Hi! I visited our chalet from the 22nd July till 3rd August with a group of Guides from Billingham. We stayed in the camp house and all had a fabulous time at our chalet. I made my promise there as a Young Leader and just hope that other Guides who are visiting in the future have as much fun as I had during our trip. I would love to hear from anyone who stayed at the chalet at the same time as we did!

I visited you on July 15th, 2000, with my husband and two friends. I simply could not come to Switzerland without visiting "Our Chalet"! Thank you so much for your warm hospitality. It was so special, too, to stay in the "Baby Chalet" and learn its Guiding history. It was a memorable experience even though it was for such a short time. It didn't matter that the weather was so poor... It sure wasn't able to dampen our spirits, and we did get glimpses of the beautiful mountains from time to time.

Congratulations Our Chalet on a first class website! I will be visiting the Chalet 14-22 June 2000. I am very excited about my stay. I first sang Our Chalet song 53 years ago. I visited for a very short time in March 1992 on my return journey home from a NORAGS Conference in southern Germany, it was just long enough for a tour of the Chalet. I promised myself I would return to stay in the Chalet, and that promise is now about to become reality. Thank you Guiding! Laurie.

We, my son,daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and I spent three wonderful days in the Chalet and in Adelboden area. We were there in early spring, just a week ago, and had two days in the snow. My grandchildren have never before experienced the cold and snow conditions. We staged a snowball fight at one of the ski lodges in the mountains. What a wonderful time was had by all. But, the treck up the hill from the bus stop was a bit much for this old man. But, I made it on my own. Thanks for a wonderful time and a place to enjoy being a little family with kids and all. Hope to do it again someday! Sincerely, Justin Marino

This is a wonderful site. I'm a leader of 2nd year Brownies. Our neighborhood association is having a big get together for Thinking Day. All the troops have chosen a country to represent and we chose Swizterland. I'm very grateful to have come across this website. Perhaps one day our troop will visit Our Chalet, that would be a true girl scout adventure.

We need to make something to sell to the other Girl Scouts from our Unit (we are thinking about making Chocolate candy)and need to make something for everyone to eat at dinner. Please help us if you can. When I was a Senior Scout I was lucky enough to visit the Girl Scout Cabanna in Mexico. New Year greetings from Kansas City. I've had the pleasure of visiting Our Chalet 2 times and I just wanted to thank everyone there for making them the most interesting and fun things I've done in Scouting.

This is a lovely site I can't wait to show to my troop! We are a small troop of "Daisy" Girl Scouts(ages 5-6)who are seeking another troop to exchange cards and letters with. We would be very excited to find someone by "Thinking Day". If you are interested, or know another troop who may be interested, please e-mail me at [email protected] Happy Scouting!:-)

We were thoroughly impressed by the amount of information on this web site. My daughter Christy is currently volunteering at Our Chalet. It has been exciting to be able to look at the pictures and know exactly where she is at. Hopefully they will experience no more power outages but as true girl guides, they were prepared and handled 30 guests with no power and heat. Hope the rest of their stay will be exciting and challenging.
