Short Term Volunteer
Our Chalet has a volunteer programme for people who like to work and meet people from many different cultures, to explore Switzerland, and share their skills to the benefit of the centre.
Short Term volunteering is a way of getting to know Our Chalet and Switzerland for people who are not able to come as a volunteer for three months. It is an advantage to have a specific skill to use at Our Chalet, but it is not essential. Short Term Volunteer programme allows people to stay at the centre using their skills in a different way.
We welcome applications from anyone who:
- Is aged 18 and over,
- can volunteer between two and 8 weeks
- Enjoys meeting and mixing with lots of new people,
- Is practical and not afraid of hard work,
- Can communicate in English.
What does a 'Short Term Volunteer' volunteer do?
Short Term Volunteers come to Our Chalet to work as additional support in busy periods (more specifically in Guest Services area) or work on a specific project which is negotiated with Our Chalet based on a skills which the volunteer has to offer. For example: building projects, maintenance work or implementing new programmes things at Our Chalet.
Short Term Volunteers will receive specific training for jobs they are expected to help with or deliver.
We welcome people for a minimum of two weeks for up to two months. During your stay you will receive full board and lodging.
We will announce specific periods of time as well as needs regarding projects and special events planned by the centre. Candidates interested in volunteering in those periods are invited to send their applications.

I'm living a wonderful experience! I'm finding out a lot of new things about Girl Guides that I didn't know and I'm also enjoying the Swiss Alps which are beautiful! People are so nice and it's cool to know new Guides from all over the world and sharing such an experience with them! I am very happy to be here :) |
