Your would like to volunteer for a short time and leave your mark of positive service at Our Chalet?
Are you looking for a new experience and challenge? Have you never been to the Swiss Alps but you wish that you could? Your are not afraid of hard work?
Our Chalet, the oldest World Centre of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, has a programme for volunteers who are interested in discovering a World Centre from a different perspective.
Everyone is welcome to apply, prior guests and staff as well as those who have not been here, we are happy to have anyone with us who is keen to lend a hand.

The Ready Steady Go provides the opportunity to work for a short time as a volunteer: helping to clean up the Centre after a season and get ready for the following one.
Volunteers will be sharing few weeks with Guides and Scouts from all over the world, from many different cultures, who have many different ways to see the world.
Applicant Criteria
- Aged 18 or over
- Enjoys meeting and mixing with new people
- Physically fit
- Practical and not afraid of hard work
- Can communicate in English
The days that you spend at the Chalet will involve a variety of tasks: general deep cleaning, collecting rubbish and recycling it, laundry, sweeping and/or snow shoveling, putting tents up, helping in the kitchen, preparing guest rooms, firewood preparation, repairing things, painting, scraping, waxing furniture, repairing walls, taking inventory ... and anything else needed to keep the Centre in good shape and image.
However, you will also have the chance to take part in some of day and evening programme activities, to explore the Adelboden valley, make new friends and impact the success of our first World Centre.
