Ready Steady Go Week - Applications are still open!

Ready Steady Go Week

Volunteering at World Centres is something that some people see as only for the 18-25 year olds - those on gap years, after university and those who can donate months of their time.

This doesn’t have to be and isn’t  the case!

We have a special event called Ready Steady Go Week which provides the perfect opportunity to work with us for a short time as a volunteer. It involves helping to clean up the Centre after the season and getting it ready for the following one. The only things we require of you are that you are available for the whole week, aged 18+, physically fit, not afraid of hard work and able to communicate in English.

Ready Steady Go - April 2014

You will have a unique opportunity to meet and work with Guides and Scouts from all over the world, from many different cultures, each with different experiences but all with a common goal.

The days that you spend at the Chalet will involve a variety of tasks: general deep cleaning, collecting rubbish and recycling, laundry, sweeping and/or snow shovelling, putting tents up, helping in the kitchen, preparing guest rooms, firewood preparation, repairing things, painting, scraping, waxing furniture, repairing walls, taking inventories ... and anything else needed to keep the Centre in good shape ready for the summer ahead!

Of course it’s not all hard work – we will make sure that you also have the chance to take part in some day and evening programmes. You will have the chance to explore the Adelboden valley, make new friends and help towards the success of our first World Centre.

The deadline is 28 February. Apply today for a World Centre experience with a difference.
