CALENDAR OF EVENTS 2005 - 2007![]() Our Chalet welcomes everyone - Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, leaders, families, adults, children, members and non-members, men, women, boys and girls! Bookings can be made for any period of time during the year, except for the Swiss Experience sessions, when we ask that everyone arrives and departs on set dates. Apart from the Swiss Experience sessions, we have an ‘open house’ in which everyone is welcome for as long as you want to stay. Each season, we also run a few promotional weeks, when special activities may be organized that are more suitable for certain ages or types of group. These are coded as follows:
E – suitable for everyone
F – more suitable for families
A – more suitable for adults
G – more suitable for Girl Guide/Girl Scout troops
Our Chalet operates in two distinct seasons because of the weather and therefore the opportunities for outdoor activities. We are normally closed for a few weeks in May and November (in between seasons) when most of the lifts and hotels/restaurants in Adelboden are also closed, but if you would like to make a group booking for this time, please contact our reception. ![]() WINTER SEASON 2005-6 5 December 2005 - 27 April 2006 Bookings can be made for any period of time from 5 - 23 December 2005 and from 27 December 2005 until the end of the season on 27 April 2006. The special promotional weeks below are advertised to show what special activities will be going on during these times in addition to our normal programme. You do not need to book for the exact dates of these 'special weeks'. Special Winter 2005-6 PromotionsNB These are not formal 'sessions', so you do not have to book for the exact dates shown. Christmas Shopping and Winter Festivals E 5-23 December 2005 Enjoy the build-up to Christmas in snowy Switzerland, and finish your Christmas shopping with a difference. Visit the famous Adelboden woodcarver for beautiful handcrafted wooden gifts and take trips to the colourful Christmas markets in Bern and Thun. You could also be the envy of your friends by stealing a few days to ski! Guides and Scouts New Year Extravaganza G 27 December 2005 - 2 January 2006 An opportunity for Guide and Scout groups of all ages to enjoy a winter holiday at Our Chalet and see in the new year with our special celebrations. World Cup Giant Slalom Week E 2-9 January 2006 Come and watch the world’s best skiers in one of the most challenging Giant Slalom courses of the FIS World Cup circuit. The action starts on the evening of the 6th and the races take place on the 7th and 8th in front of tens of thousands of visitors to Adelboden and millions more through worldwide TV coverage. Winter Activity Weekend E 13-15 January 2006 Action-packed weekend of snow activities, sports and fun. Adults and Friends Skiing Week A 16-22 January 2006 A chance for Friends of Our Chalet to join a beginners skiing group, or improve their existing skills. Come alone, or bring a friend, this is a chance to enjoy a winter holiday and make new friends at Our Chalet. Young Adult/High Adventure Week E 4-11 February 2006 This week is about challenge, excitement and making new friends. Learn a new sport and try a range of adventure activities such as paragliding and ice climbing. Thinking Day Week G 11-18 February 2006 Where better to celebrate this special day for Guides and Scouts than at Our Chalet with friends from around the world? Our normal winter programme will include extra activities and events to celebrate World Thinking Day on 22 February. Speciality Skiing Week E 20-24 February 2006 Challenge yourself to develop and improve your ski skills with instruction from the Adelboden Ski School or our in-house specialist coaching. Family Week F 6-12 March 2006 Enjoy a ski holiday with all the family at Our Chalet. Special programmes for children and young people will complement normal day and evening activities. Spring Wild Flowers Week E 21-27 May 2006 Discover the flora and fauna, breathe in the mountain air and be inspired by nature’s majesty. A network of trails and footpaths takes you from Our Chalet to the towering snow-capped peaks or for a gentle stroll past crystal-clear waters, alpine forests and green meadows spread with a carpet of wild flowers and breathtaking scenery. Swiss Experience 2006 sessionsSwiss Experience sessions are aimed at Girl Guides and Girl Scouts and provide the ultimate opportunity to experience what Our Chalet has to offer. Programme options include hikes, sightseeing excursions, cultural experiences, and activities both at Our Chalet and in the local area. These sessions must be booked for the exact dates shown. 2006

Special Autumn 2006 Promotions High Adventure Week E 9-16 September 2006 Serious alpine hikes include overnight hikes staying in alpine huts, hikes along alpine routes, and climbs to several peaks in the area. There will also be opportunities to try other adventure activities such as paragliding, rock climbing, abseiling and canyoning. The programme will be organised according to the interests and fitness levels of the participants. Adults and Friends Week A 18-24 September 2006 Special session for adults and Friends of Our Chalet. Opportunities for hiking, sightseeing trips, cultural events and group activities. Junior Week G 22-29 October 2006 A chance for younger groups to enjoy hikes, sightseeing trips and other activities specially chosen for their age group. An opportunity, too, to work on some outdoor badges. KEY
