We currently have two vacancies for long term staff and are recruiting volunteers to work for a season.


OFFICE ASSISTANT

6-9 months contract

Residential CHF1,600 per month

Our Chalet is one of four World Centres owned by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. We place great emphasis on providing a high quality service to guests, and are now looking for a responsible office assistant who shares our aims and commitment to begin work in May 2005.

A pleasant personality and sound administrative skills are essential qualities for the Office Assistant, responsible for the busy reception office of this International Girl Guiding World Centre in the Swiss Alps. Yours will be a crucial role in assisting with the smooth running of the centre and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Experienced in Microsoft Office with excellent communication skills in English (and also preferably in German), you will organise the reception office and welcome guests, answer e-mail enquiries and manage bookings for people wishing to stay at, or visit, the Chalet, prepare invoices and handle financial transactions. You will also assist in the management of the shop.

Working both independently and as part of a team, you will have a flexible yet thorough approach to your work and possess a desire to meet and interact with international guests.

CATERING MANAGER

Two year contract

Residential Up to CHF34,000

Responsible for all aspects of meal preparation and kitchen hygiene at a WAGGGS World Centre in the Swiss Alps, yours will be a crucial role in managing this important area of operation and ensuring guest satisfaction.

We place great emphasis on providing a high standard of guest service in all areas and are looking for a responsible catering manager who shares our aims and commitment to commence work in June 2005.

Experienced in menu planning with excellent culinary skills, you will co-ordinate the preparation and serving of meals in a ‘family-style’ dining room, manage other kitchen staff, and order and purchase food. You will also manage the food budget and follow Swiss health and safety regulations in all kitchen-related areas.

Working as part of the management team, you will work on your own initiative, display a methodical and calm approach to your work, have well-developed organisational skills and be flexible and reliable.

Catering experience, ability to work in a team, a good knowledge of the German language, a clean driving licence and acceptance of Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting principles are essential.
