Come and discover the traditional charm and picturesque beauty of one of the most attractive winter sports resorts in the Alps.

Our Chalet, Adelboden is set in the heart of the Swiss Alps amongst spectacular scenery and world-class skiing.

Adelboden lies in a sun-trap at the foot of the Wildstrubel and can enjoy up to 9 hours of sunshine per day in the winter. The winter season runs from mid December to the end of April and offers:

  • skiing at approx 2000m above sea level
  • over 50 lifts with virtually no queues
  • state-of-the-art electronic lift pass system
  • over 160km of pistes with extensive snow-making facilities
  • English-speaking ski and snowboard instructors
  • fun kids’ classes with weekly ski race
  • children’s winter snow-playground

As host to the FIS World Cup ski races every year, Adelboden offers a challenge to even the best skier. But there’s also more than enough choice for beginners and intermediate skiers – and plenty for non-skiers too!

As well as skiing and snowboarding, you can try snowshoeing, tubing, cross country skiing, paragliding, winter walking, ice skating, curling, ice climbing, tobogganing, sit skiing, tailing, sleigh rides and much more…

With equipment to fit children from as young as three years old as well as the latest technology for adult beginners to advanced skiers, the shop will give all Our Chalet guests a 10% discount when renting any of their winter sports equipment.

Ski Lessons

Peter Neurauter, Our Chalet Centre ManagerLearning to ski properly with a qualified ski instructor is not only the safest way to enjoy skiing, but it produces some amazing results! Skiers at all levels have the opportunity to take lessons with the Adelboden Ski School at a specially reduced rate that has been negotiated for Our Chalet guests. Beginner, intermediate and advanced lessons can all be arranged on a group or individual basis.

Good skiers can also book an advanced lesson to learn the latest techniques with our Centre Manager, Peter Neurauter, an internationally qualified ski instructor and coach.

Mountain Familiarisation

Safety considerations are of paramount importance in all the activities we undertake. Accordingly, all staff who accompany guests will have completed a certificated training course before being allowed to work on the mountains.

Evening Entertainment

Cheers!

Optional evening activities are organised each night. For those still with energy, options include night-skiing, moonlight walks, ice skating, curling, Eisstockschiessen, events in the village, snow games, tobogganing, campfires and international evenings.

Naturally, after a hard day’s skiing, you may just prefer to relax in one of the lounge areas, enjoy a quiet drink in the bar, catch up with family and friends in the Internet corner, watch a video, play a few board games or visit the on-site shop.

Skiing

The local ski school offers classes for all levels, and off-piste skiing and ski-touring are available through the Alpine School Adelboden.

Snowboarding

Tobogganing

Adults can have fun toboganning too!Use Our Chalet’s own wooden toboggans to enjoy 40km of prepared paths. Runs include a breathtaking ride through the trees from the top of the gondola station down to the village.

Cross country skiing

Engstligenalp in Adelboden is ideal for cross country skiingAdelboden boasts three cross-country tracks up to 13 km long, including a 5km track on a high plateau with guaranteed snow from November to May.

With a sky of the deepest blue above and the high alpine sun on your face, enjoy the spectacular scenery at your own pace on a 40km network of prepared trails and paths. Visit the magnificent Engstligen waterfall, stop for lunch in one of the area’s many cosy alpine restaurants and follow the river path back to Our Chalet.
